About us
Airmec Essential Services is a well-respected air hygiene, water hygiene and fire damper safety compliance specialist. We are winning new business and growing fast which means we have opportunities for people like you who want to take on new challenges and advance their careers. We are fully independent, so you won’t be stifled by endless layers of ‘management’.
We work throughout the UK in healthcare, high-security, and other public sector premises, as well as for independent businesses.

Our team
Airmec’s success is built on teamwork. Behind every surveyor, inspector and technician arriving at a customer site is a whole network of support staff.
It starts with the initial survey and risk assessment. Then our operations and account management specialists scope the work and suggest a realistic timetable, prepare method statements and schedule the works to ensure all the right equipment is on-site when our skilled technicians arrive on site.

Andrew Steel
Managing Director
Andrew invested in Airmec in 2011 with a vision to build a business valued by customers and generating success and fulfilment for all its people. Honesty, responsibility, trust and team spirit are his – and Airmec’s – watchwords.

Jimmy joined our in-house fire damper remedials team in 2024. He brings a wealth of experience and qualifications in fire damper and ventilation work, ensuring the highest standards are consistently met.

Jack joined us as an Air Technician in 2018. Since then, we’ve helped him to get his NVQ Level 3 in ventilation system installation and now he’s a lead mechanical technician in our remedial team.

Contracts and Remedials
Mandy joined us six years ago as an Operations Coordinator and now manages our Contracts and Remedials team. They make sure everything comes together on the day for customers and Airmec field staff alike.
